Food is fun, period. It’s also a great way thing to build a community around. I got a reminder of just how big of a community I was a part of back in Georgia and why I think it’s important no matter where you are.
The cats have decided to take over the desk portion of my office for the morning, though it’s not the only disruption in terms of the regular weekly routine.
Last night’s Academy Awards were poignant for those who recognized the strength of the women who won, leading me to think about just how influential women have been in my life – and that influence runs pretty deep right now.
It’s tough to get back out and explore the city again. Hopefully it’s the beginning of a re-exploration of Birmingham, AL (but I’m not necessarily promising that much – yet).

This post was started in October 2008 and I thought now would be as good a time as any to ask people what helps them realize that things will be OK and share thoughts that still seem to ring true.
