It’s been six years since I started blogging. I figured it was finally time to recognize it – a least a little bit – and some of what it’s led to.
Despite wanting to be able to walk more often, I still enjoy going out and exploring. You never know what you’re going to stumble across – even a lion carved from the remains of a tree.
It’s nice to support the latest and greatest – but to focus on it only to the detriment of other parts of a city or a neighborhood seems a little unfair. We need to be willing to understand that just because something is open and available doesn’t mean that everyone will have access to it.
Being willing to learn also means being willing to listen. It makes you wonder just how many folks are listening nowadays, doesn’t it? Can we truly be patient and relaxed or are we stuck in a world of perpetual motion, noise, and inattention?
I just wanted to give folks an update on what I know about plans for this year’s WordCamp in Birmingham, AL (and to say thanks for the support of those in the local WordPress community over the last three years).
