More than 250 people sat under the stars in Linn Park downtown to enjoy a screening of Ferris Beuller's Day Off earlier this evening. The screening was the first of a summer series we've previously spoken about, Movies by Moonlight, running through October. Click here for a PDF containing information about the rest of the film series. Here are some of the better images from the event. Check back here shortly for a link to the entire photo set on the Flickr account.
UPDATE! The images have been updated. I have not upgraded to a Pro account as of yet, so you will want to look for acnatta's photoset and look for the most recent images. The Pro account should be set up shortly.
The scene was reminiscent of the annual Bryant Park film series in midtown Manhattan, a series that has become a staple in the summer activities scene in the New York metro area. Clear skies and perfect temperatures helped make the event a success here tonight. Door prizes were given away courtesy of the Downtown Business Association and Operation New Birmingham among others. It was also more of a large scale neighborhood party, bringing together Central City residents with others from around the area in their current living room. Imagine what it could be like when the downtown's new living room, Railroad Reservation Park, is complete. Just one of many things to do this summer in town. Let's hope that the crowds continue to grow! And you may go home with a prize!
Cheers.
