The Friday Ramble: A week in review edition (with some other stuff too)

This week has been a strained one for the Ramblings. Most of the writing I’ve done this week would be worthy of the Friday Ramble anyway, so we’re going to do a week in review edition. In particular, discussion regarding the pending decision from Birmingham Southern College’s board of directors regarding the future of whom they play in their athletic matches. There have been two posts made on the topic: the first pointing out the schools that do play (they really aren’t slouches) and another talking about those that have played in Division III and made it to the big time (considered an added bonus for D-III athletes).

Relay for Life is tonight!

Here’s something else for y’all. I’m willing to do two laps on crutches at tonight’s Leeds/Moody Relay for Life event if I’m able to reach $500 in fund raising. Those wondering why I’m on crutches probably want to check out my MySpace blog. I’d even post some pictures of the effort as well if the goal was reached. I guess we’ll see what happens…

Movies by Moonlight was last night!

Another is the success of the first Movies by Moonlight film. This post includes a couple of pictures of the event. You may want to search Flickr for “Dre’s Ramblings” and see what comes up. You should find some good ones, and some not so good ones 🙂 I was tired of sitting around the house.

Do Dah Day tomorrow!

For those thinking that this weekend is slow, don’t forget that Do Dah Day is tomorrow, with Do Dah Eve festivities taking place at Zydeco tonight. Here’s the schedule for tomorrow as well.

… and next week,

You may want to check out the Catalyst website to learn more about the upcoming event (Get in Gear, this coming Tuesday at Sloss Docks).

We’ll talk to you soon. I’m going to hope the medicine doesn’t keep me too groggy over the weekend.

Cheers.
