Well, Birmingham is getting ready to host the first WordCamp in the Southeastern United States…
Yep, this post has become reality as WordCamp Birmingham will take place on September 27 & 28 as part of the first annual SxDS conference. Yours truly is one of the folks putting fingers to keyboards to organize the event and I’m definitely excited about the opportunity to meet folks from not just the metropolitan area, but the Southeast! We’re definitely in the early stages of planning, but we’ve already been able to get a few folks to sign up on the event’s wiki (we’ll set up an Upcoming event over the weekend click here to let us know you’re attending via Upcoming).
If you’re interested in helping organize or just want to let us know from now if you’re going to be a camper (it will help us with organizational issues), please let us know.
We did post a call for proposed sessions & speakers on the SxDS website yesterday afternoon; share some with us if you’ve got them and let us know if you’re interested in attending. Don’t forget, SIdewalk Moving Picture Festival and the Taste of 4th Avenue Jazz Festival both take place the same weekend…
