What kind of Birmingham resident are you?
First of all, go and read 3choBoomer’s recent post. Yes, right now! (But hey, don’t forget to come back here afterwards!) I hope that some of you will choose to pass it along via linking to it or e-mailing the text to your friends and seeing what comes back. It seems as though the conversation in recent days among bloggers is more about support of each other and our community as a whole. As mentioned this morning, there are opportunities coming up where our opinions need to be shared.
It’s time for the Brewhaha… ha (yeah, bad joke)
It just wouldn’t be a regular rundown of events without a mention of this Friday’s Artwalk Brewhaha. This month’s artist is… well that’s the beauty of this month’s activities; they will feature several of this year’s participating artists. The Surin West coupon is available from the link as well. You may want to explore the site and visit the page that contains information about this year’s Artwalk Preamble, taking place August 10 at the Parthenon (2210 1st Avenue North). Or you can use this link to get to that information immediately.
It’s almost finished… almost
I’ve got to thank Curtis and Wade for their assistance in trying to settle on a new completed header for this site. I think I’ve finally decided on what I want to do and I may even attempt to find ways for all of you to take a little piece of the header home if you want to. I’ll probably find a way to use all of the suggestions that they’ve made at some point in the near future. And I’ll figure out a way for y’all to see all of them in the near future. And you should see the finished product tomorrow (hopefully).
Get your platform shoes out
This weekend due to all the fun stuff with the knees I will not be able to see if I can run in a afro for a second year in a row at the Twilight Retro 5K. The race will take people through Homewood, AL. For those that want to laugh at the silliness that is yours truly wearing an afro (and not necessarily a good looking one on me), click here. There is some information available on the calendar page for the Birmingham Track Club. While I also won’t be able to physically attend that event, the thought of going out and cheering on those running in the Shake and Bake 5K next weekend is tempting. Plus it gives me a chance to see how Mt. Laurel is doing out there. Here’s the last post that I did regarding that. I still haven’t heard from the guy who wrote and asked the question that led to the second post. Hope he’s doing ok as well as all of you.
Cheers.
