Every once in a while, no matter how much I enjoy being in Birmingham, you have to get out for a moment of clarity. Given the insane roller coaster we’ve been on financially as a country recently, plus the fact that the car just can’t make the trips it used to (at least not until it goes in for a major overhaul), the trips now force you to look around for stuff close by.
I got an email from Arnold Rutkis this past Saturday morning letting me know that the Southern Environmental Center‘s newest ecoscape had been completed and was being dedicated at Turkey Creek Nature Preserve. I missed the ceremony but got to enjoy some peace and quiet – if only for a little bit. I took a few pictures out there and uploaded them to Flickr. I can’t wait to see what it’ll look like up there this spring.
