Last month, we posted about Catalyst’s plans to help City Stages. You may have also noticed the first button on the left for the last couple of weeks led to the official site for the campaign, SustainCityStages.org. This morning the site was officially launched via a television spot on Fox 6. I’d encourage you to visit the site and see if you can help out in this effort.
An update on David
Speaking of helping out, I’m happy to see how many people were able to help with David Lawson’s home. Please click here and read the post if you’re not already familiar with this story. Diane has e-mailed me recently to let me know of two things. A website has been set up to share up-to-date information about the progress of the house.

She’s also provided a mailing address for anyone else that is interested in making contributions to the effort.

She also said that for tax deductible purposes, checks may be made payable to Vestavia Hills UMC. I’m looking forward to seeing how it all turns out for Thanksgiving this year.
In a rare turn I’ll be posting this morning from work as I try to catch up on some of the events taking place for The Year of Alabama Arts. Hopefully you’ll stay tuned. Maybe we’ll also see some additional changes to the civic organization roundtable list before the start of the Alejandro Escovedo show this evening as the last installment of Art on the Rocks. It will be a good end to a good week of music. (Side note: Last night’s Old Crow Medicine Show concert was great. Other things were just a little crazy. Those of you that know where my MySpace blog is may get a better idea of what I mean).
Enjoy the day.
Cheers.
