Come on over: WordCamp Birmingham’s next weekend!

Just figured I’d share this announcement about next weekend’s WordCamp Birmingham with those of you that still follow this site from time to time. I’m looking forward to meeting some of you if can make it over.

Next week Saturday and Sunday, September 27 & 28, we hope to see you at the Virginia Samford Theatrebeginning at 8 a.m. for the 1st annual WordCamp Birmingham. For those unfamiliar with WordCamp, it’s a gathering of WordPress users, developers, other bloggers or anyone one else interested in learning about blogging, networking and having fun!

Here’s a more formal definition of what a WordCamp is, courtesy of the WordCamp Report:

“WordCamp is a 1 or 2 day conference for WordPress users and developers. The focus is on how to be a better blogger, on the development and future of WordPress, and other topics of interest.”

We’ve put together a fantastic set of speakers, including WordPress developer emeritus Dougal Campbell, SEO specialist Donna Fontenot and AdFreak’s David Griner. We still have one or two more speakers to announce and hope several of the attendees will consider presenting in the lightning talks track which will take place (weather permitting) in front of the historic theater. We’re also plannng other activities for Sunday, including roundtable discussions and a scavenger hunt.

Registration is $25 and includes lunch by Urban Standard, a t-shirt and a chance to meet and network with other bloggers and learn from each other. We will not be accepting registrations at the door and it’s closing on Monday evening, so we urge you to please register as soon as possible as only 150 total slots are available!

If you’ve got any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Andre Natta at [email protected] or direct message us via Twitter (wordcampbham).
Cheers.
