I'm not familiar with the B'ham scene but in most places the lack of support of local businesses is due to the fact that they aren't offering more bang for the buck than the big-box stores. In my small town in NWFL Wal-Mart and Lowes offer more for your money than the small local stores. Thank you for fixing it.
