There was a small amount of press when plans were announced about UAB’s purchase of the Parliament Hotel. The state’s largest employer plans to tear down the building and use the site for future campus expansion.

The other evening, the site had several vehicles parked in the entrance to its driveway. They were parked there to visit Ona’s Music Room. The space is one of a series of old and new spaces preparing for new customers as the expanding condominium market expands into the city’s Southside.

This long time music venue benefits from close proximity to several development projects as well as its location along 20th Street South. Click here to view some images of the place courtesy of their website.

As always, you can view a list of previously highlighted signs by clicking here. Clicking on this link will lead you to the project’s photo gallery. The Magic City flickr Group also has some images of neon signs throughout the downtown area of Birmingham. If you have any suggestions for signs, please e-mail us with them.

Enjoy the evening,

Cheers.
