You and Betsy want to come over Tuesday 6/6 - we can watch voting results and play Scrabble!! I love all board games, but that is a favorite. Let me know - Matthew will be out of town :(

I've suffered though two bouts of tendonitis with the iliotibial band. You do need to take it easy for a while but also, you should get your doctor/PT to show you some stretches that will help. When I am training for long distance running events, I have to massage my IT bands (usually with a tennis ball) after long runs in order to keep the tendonitis from flaring up again. Also, you might want to visit a pedorthist (Donna Robertson in Hoover) to see if orthotics would help you - at the least she can look at your gait and tell you what brand/model of running shoe would work best for you.

My IT band problems took about 9 months each time to resolve. It's good if you can do some cross training (anything other than weight bearing exercise), but you don't have to stop running altogether as long as you are diligent about stretching and massage.

Drop me an email if you have any questions or want to discuss further.
